Pre Primary Orientation 2024-25

“A child is like a butterfly in the wind. Some can fly higher than others, but each one flies the best it can. Why compare one against the other? Each one is different, each one is special and each one is beautiful.”

The Pre-Primary Orientation held on 28th March 2024 at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School was a comprehensive introduction to the school’s ethos, educational approach, and faculty members. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a series of informative sessions led by the school’s Principal, Vice Principal, and Pre Primary Coordinator.

Principal Ms. Poonam Kochitty delivered an insightful speech, briefing parents about the school’s vision and its commitment to fostering active and reflective thinking through an international curriculum. She emphasized the importance of 21st-century teaching methods, highlighting the shift from rote learning to critical thinking. The Principal stressed the significance of creativity and innovation, focusing on preparing children for future job skills such as teamwork and perspective-taking.

Following the Principal’s address, the entire team of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School was introduced, giving parents an overview of the dedicated professionals entrusted with their children’s education and well-being.

During the briefing sessions, parents actively participated in one-to-one conversations with school heads, discussing various aspects of the school’s foundation stage. Topics included neural development in early years, exposure to different languages, and the impact on neural connections. Vice Principal Ms. Monika Taneja Manaktalaa engaged parents in an interactive session on activating surroundings for learning, incorporating the concepts of nouns within the auditorium. She also discussed the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and its eight learning principles. Parents were acquainted with how the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) is implemented, encompassing four broad categories of activity: Independence and Interdependence, Communicating, Enquiring, and Healthy Living and Physical well-being. Within each of these strands, detailed descriptions were provided outlining the experiential learning children engage in. These activities are seamlessly integrated into IEYC units of learning, ensuring a holistic and contextualized educational experience for young learners.

Toward the end of the orientation, the Pre-Primary Coordinator Ms. Monika Srivastava briefed parents on general guidelines for the new session, including the use of the Class Dojo App for smooth teacher-parent communication.

The Pre-Primary Orientation concluded successfully, leaving parents satisfied and informed about the school’s educational philosophy, curriculum, and support systems.
