CBSE 10th-12th Date Sheet 2022: Students Express Unhappiness With Less Gaps, School Principals Call it Balanced

CBSE 10th-12th Date Sheet 2022: Students Express Unhappiness With Less Gaps, School Principals Call it Balanced

Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE 10th 12th Date Sheet 2022 has been released on cbse.gov.in. In this Term 1 Time Table, only the dates of Major exams have been mentioned and the Board has said that it would send a separate circular to schools regarding Minor exams.

While the Term 1 Time Table got released just 2 days back, on October 18, it has already spurred a debate among stakeholders. As some students express their unhappiness with less gaps in a few exams, School Principals have welcomed the Time table and called it balanced.

Reema Rai, Principal, Aravali International School welcomed the new Date Sheet and called it ‘well-planned.’ She said, “CBSE Class 10th 12th Date Sheet is well-planned and will help students in preparing well for the exam. It seems well spread-out and will help students in preparing well for the exams. Students will also get time to rest as they try to adjust with this new way of exams.”

Poonam Kochitty, Principal, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow appreciated CBSE’s timely announcement and said, “The release of the date sheet for class X and XII is a welcome move. This year, the planning by CBSE was done and communicated much earlier than in the last session, so students, teachers and schools are better prepared. Since only fifty percent of the course is coming in the Term 1, there has been ample time for course completion and revision. The date sheet has come in nearly a month in advance so everyone can gear up and hope to perform well.”

Aayush Sharma a class 10 student of DPS Noida said, “The Date sheet seems largely fine but my friends from school and I have a problem with the holidays. We have just a day’s gap in Science and Mathematics and both are difficult exams. Even though the paper will have MCQs, we still have to prepare. A day’s gap between two Major exams is unfair to students.”

Sangeeta Hajela, Principal, DPS Indirapuram disagreed with the problem of alleged small gaps as the curriculum was planned and said, “The short break or no gap between the Class 10th board exams, is honestly not a matter of concern. Our entire curriculum is planned in a way that ensures timely completion of the syllabus. The objective type of questions don’t test rote-learning, and hence, a slightly reduced gap for some papers should not bother one.”

Even Seema Kaur, Principal, Pacific World School, Noida agreed that the less gap was not a problem and said, “Honestly the reduced gap in the Class 10th date sheet would not be much challenging. It is only for some subjects that students are getting no gaps but for rest it is 1.5 days gap which deems appropriate. Since, the papers are objective in nature, and we have been preparing our students all throughout the year. ”

Pallavi Upadhyaya, Principal, DPS RNE Ghaziabad had this to say about the date sheet: “The board examinations for this year are anyway delayed, we are in the month of November with first term examinations. With only two months left for final term, in my opinion the fewer gaps in exam days is ideal. If these dates would have been stretched, it was highly likely that students would tend to prolong their preparation for second term.”

CBSE 10th 12th Date Sheet 2022 is up and out for debate. Even though different people are taking it differently, there is no denying that schools and students have become more alert towards Board exams now. As exam dates get closer, schools and students start with their preparations for this new way of learning.
